Tired Eyes

School has been tying me up to my toes. My music has been slacking off lately, meaning that I'm behind in lessons and how prepared I am for performances. This is not good at all. I knew that by taking so many classes I would be really busy, not to mention my 6-hour Saturday class along with working as well, but I didn't know it would be like this. Each day seems to melt into one long day where I am hanging on by the last drops of caffeine from my morning coffee and barely having time to do the things I need to. I guess they call this college, eh? Well I sure didn't think it would be like this. There are sooo many things I want to do; play guitar, play piano, sing, take & edit photos, BLOG (:D), and not to mention have a little time to relax and hang out with friends, family, and other loved ones. Work, too, is taking up my time. This Saturday is completely shot, thanks to my photo class and work all night. Oi, I miss my free Saturdays. I'm glad spring break is just around the corner :)

From what I've had time to do, I'll leave you with a few photos.
By the way: what has been on your mind lately? I sure would like to hear from some of you. Anything bothering you or exciting you about this weekend? Lend me some words and I will lend you my ears.

As I sit, a bird flies overhead.
I watch as he weaves in and out through the trees.
He's lost his nest, she's gone away.
In despair he swoops down and sits next to me.

Sorrowfully he chirps.
The autumn wind rustles his bright gold feathers;
who could have left this beautiful creature?

He tries once more to find her and flies to the highest tree top.
Perched on top a bear dying branch, sorrow fills his little heart;
he's realized she's gone for good.

I wonder why he's so alone,
I have a desire to call him my own.
Fly down to me, oh lovely bird.
Sing to me no more sorrowful songs.
Perch upon my shoulder, I'll take you home.
And when you sing so beautifully to me,
I'll sing along and keep you warm.

Trophies In My Heart

I love reading good short stories. I recently read a story by Gabriel Garcia Marquez called "A Very Old Man With Enormous Wings." I'd recommend you check it out to find out what it's all about :)
I miss the spring, oh so very much. It's slowly getting warmer in the Southwest and for that I am content. However, I can't deny that I would LOVE for it to be much much warmer. I'm so very excited and anxious to wear shorts and flip flops again.

I'm starting to like this guy:

"I think photographs should be provocative and not tell you what you already know. It takes no great powers or magic to reproduce somebody's face in a photograph. The magic is in seeing people in new ways." Duane Michals

Light and Daydreams

I have a photo assignment due tomorrow and although I've been thinking of ideas for it, I just can't take the photos I'd like to. Maybe it's because I spend too much time on here and can't concentrate (that's usually the problem...) or maybe it's because I can't find inspiration. I want to go out into the city and take photos but I'd rather go with a special someone...and he's busy.

I love my city, town, home, whatever you want to call it. Though there are many times when I'd rather just pack up and leave.

I want to travel. I want to see the world. I want to meet new people. I want to take pictures of things and places that I haven't been to before. And I'd like to do it SOON.

School has started up again and I'm still struggling to get into the swing of everything. It's frustrating, I must admit, that I can't get my mind fully grasped around the concept that I HAVE to do homework, to practice my instruments, and go to bed at least early enough get enough sleep so I'm not falling asleep in class. I love being busy and having things to do but this month is not working well for me in that I can't get everything done that I want/need to. Sigh...

On another note, today is Friday! Woo! I'm super excited (: After my photo class, I will spend the next five hours of my Saturday working (finally!) As much as I love my job, I'd really like to visit our beautiful mountains. I want to see my sweetheart more, too. Though I fear I might not be able to see him as much as I would like. Pray that I will still get to spend some genuine time with him.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
God Bless.

Happy Wednesday

Hello all (:
I don't really know who reads any of my posts but I hope to meet you (whoever you are).

Today was [kinda] productive. School took 9 hours out of my life today and I think only a few of them were actually productive. I do believe I'm getting sick, which is never fun. Not to mention that our South Western weather is bringing in the freezing winds and snow that is overdue and consequently, unwelcome in my eyes. *sigh* I'm SUPER ready for the spring to finally roll in...

I am taking a photography class at the university and I LOVE it. I'm learning a few cool things that I did not know about before and I'm constantly thinking of photos that I could take. Even when I should be thinking about math in class, my mind is wandering in a creative abyss full of colors, light, and different subjects. Sometimes I wish I could just take a two week-long break filled with photography assignments and music (I play guitar and piano as well, did ya know?). Anyway, those dreams don't come along too often, but I'll still dream (:

I took a few photos (self portraits) today and I'd like to share a few with you. Tell me what you think.

Sleepless Mondays

I didn't get much sleep last night.

I was talking with a loved one til late

...about some things that needed to be spoken about.

Although I barley got any sleep, I was very

very awake today.

Though unfortunately when it was time to

do some college homework,

I couldn't concentrate. :/

So here I am!

I want to show you a photo I took yesterday.

I like it quite a lot & I hope you do too (:

My dad's Minolta. I LOVE it :D
God Bless
