Windy City

Lately, I've been up and down.
I've been sick for a while now
and last week seemed like the longest
week I've had in a long time.
When it rained this week,
I felt like doing nothing.

Tonight, I want to watch
a romance movie.
I think it should be
in French, too.

Jail Bird, Jail Bird

Have you ever listened to a song on the radio, a mixed CD, or your shuffled Ipod and thought, "Wow, this is totally reflective of my life right now"? I have been thinking that quite a lot lately. Some are love songs, some are trying-to-find-out-who-you-are songs, and some are lets-try-to-change-the-world songs. I've been loving more mellow songs lately too. Songs from Cat Power and Angus and Julia Stone, to be specific. I think it's because I'm trying to be as creative as I can be with my photography and writing and slow songs allow me to think more, or maybe just think more clearly. I also think more mellow songs with hidden messages allow me to color my mind, expand my imagination, and allow my creativity to burn throughout my veins. I love it when I'm in these moods...when only indie and non-radio bands and songs can only satisfy my current music preferences and desire to hear something new. Even when I listen to a few of my favourite bands over and over again, I still hear new things; new words that I didn't catch before, new meanings in what they are singing about, and maybe new chords that didn't hit my ear drums previously. Music, like love, fuels my heart. There are so many beautiful things in music and so many beautiful things that writers put to music. I owe a lot of musicians credit for inspiring me to write certain things and to take certain photos. I would like to take the time to list a few...

"All you ever wanted was love but you never looked hard enough."

First week of school is over.
Woo!
It went by pretty fast, until Wednesday;
then I was ready for the weekend.
But Friday is finally here
and I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
I'm doing another photoshoot with my friend.
He's going to photograph me in the cityyy.
I'm excited :)
Not to mention I'll be going to some camera
stores to look for some new lenses for my Minolta.
Because I'm cool like that I am learning how to
get better at film.
Yeah, I'm a little old school.
But I love it <3

I still want a Lookbook.
Sigh.

Summer Fades Away

And today is my last day of summer.
Geez it sure went by fast!
I've got many photos to help remind
me of all the fun and exciting things
I've done but I'll miss it.
I already miss the beach.
I already miss the (few) swimming days.
I already miss the carefree late nights
spent with friends & loved ones.
Summer had to end eventually,
I suppose.
Well, thank you summer of 2010
you were exciting :)
Here's to another jam-packed school year.

Forever

The other day, my boyfriend and I went to the park
and we acted like kids again.
It was wonderful.
Although at times we can still pretend that
we're kids again,
in the end we're still getting older.
And we'll always be getting older.
So I propose we act like kids whenever
we can :)
Because we're never going to get
those wasted hours back when we were too
uptight and tried to "act our age."
Because after all...
kids have the most fun anyway.
