"I am to be seen, not heard."

I was in a fashion show over the weekend!
It was really fun; I got to wear a dress that my cousin
and a couple of her friends made completely out of scratch!
They even did my hair and makeup. The dress was made of chicken
wire, napkins, soda cans, tissue paper, and star lights. I got
to walk on the runway for the first time and we were all judged
on who had the best dress. Mine didn't win but it was still
an awesome experience. My love was so sweet and said that I
was "made for the runway." <3 I don't think I'll do a modeling
thing again up on stage again but I never know what will happen.
Maybe I'll do it again...maybe not. It can be fun and exhilerating
but really stressful too. Being with all other other girl's and
hearing them yell and scream about their outfit and whatnot
can be pretty bothersome...

Autumn's Lover

I love this new autumn season and the need to cuddle up with someone special just to keep warm. <3

Horray!

Horray horray horray! I finally recieved my Nikon camera! It's uber exciting to finally have a DSLR besides my two SLRs that I use for my film class. My new little friend is named Arwen. I got the name from The Lord of the Rings; Arwen is the main female elf in the movie and the second most beautiful. I think the most beautiful (female) elf is Galadriel. She's so lovely. If you haven't watched The Lord of the Rings, I think you should. Like right now. Go! ;D

While I Waited

I sat in the coffee shop, a few blocks away from campus, slowly eating the cinnamon-topped whipped cream off of my Mexican Latte. Looking around, I saw people chatting with friends, studying for exams, and looking at the aray of magazines the shop provided. Two elderly women in front of me were talking about family affairs, drinking red wine. My whipped cream was beginning to melt and I was getting hungrier when my meal came; hot, creamy, curly macaroni & cheese. As I began to eat slowly as to not burn my tounge, I realized that I was alone, eating alone; there was nobody beside me. There was no warm soul sitting next to me, telling me about their adventure of the day, explaining that the world is full of wonderful, sponatneous surprises. I had wished there was. As I looked at my food and slowly scanned the room, I realized I wasn't the only one sitting alone. There were others too, although they all seemed to be occupied with tasks of their own; I was left to eat and drink with nothing but my thoughts of loneliness to keep me company. As I finished my meal and tried to drink the rest of my lukewarm coffee, you came. Your bright smile and the glow of your heart captivated me, sucking me into a moment where only you and I existed. I was content. No, I was exuberant for your lovely appearance. I want to thank you for tonight, for that moment, for the one second of my night where I realized I wasn't alone; I was only waiting...and you came. <3

Little Lion Man

I've been listening to a lot of new music lately and I wish my i-pod could be Pandora. That way, I'd always have the best new music to listen to and I'd never get bored of any of it. Favourite new bands include: Mumford & Sons, Doris Cellar, Marina & The Diamonds, Royksopp, The Decemberists, Matt Costa, Waking Ashland, Noah and the Whale, Wilco, Ra Ra Riot, Lenka. I have many more but I can't remember them all!

The weather has been cooling down lately and I would be lying if I didn't say that I'm excited for the new season of cold weather to arrive. I've already gotten excited about the new & thick warm scarves that we're getting in at work and I've collected a few warm cardigans and sweaters. I can't wait for my nose to be pink with cold, too. Weird, isn't it? I think it's weird how we get so used to one season and fall in love but then when the next one starts showing signs that it's about to come, we get excited and ready to embrace it. Well, at least I do. The leaves are changing as well and I plan to take some photos of them before they all fall off. Although when they do, I plan to also dance in the fallen leaves. <3

I just purchased my very first DSLR: the Nikon d5000 and a Nikon portrait lens. I'm currently awaiting it to arrive in the mail. I'm ubber excited, to say the least. I can't wait to finally have one.
